The History of Contra Coaching...

Contra Coaching started out as an initiative of the Brisbane ICF (International Coach Federation) chapter, led by local member, Kerryn Griffiths.

It quickly spread nationally and internationally and within a year, it received support from ICF Australasia and was adopted as an ICF SIG (Special Interest Group). During this time, it was free for ICF members to participate in Contra Coaching and before long, there were coaches from North America, Europe, the UK and Asia coaching and being coached by each other all year round. Contra Coaching is now also free for members of the Association for Coaching.

The popularity of Contra Coaching grew by word of mouth and reached a point where a website needed to be created to accommodate the growing numbers and ensure an enriching experience for all involved. Kerryn Griffiths, still the sole coordinator of Contra Coaching, merged the program into her business, EVOLVEDUCATION, at which point Contra Coaches began to pay a small fee to participate.

This new Contra Coaching platform has enabled the necessary money, time and energy to be devoted to the Contra Coaching program and has made it what it is today and will continue to sustain it for coaches long into the future.
