How Contra Coaching works...
Contra Coaches buy a couple of Coaching
Coins or accrue free coins and this pays for a professional match-maker
to assign them a coach and a client in what we call a coaching “round”.
Each coaching round has a predetermined number of coaching
hours that are to be completed at a particular frequency (e.g. weekly)
across a certain amount of time (e.g. 3-6 months). Then, by coaching
one coach in that round, each coach is entitled to receive the same
amount of coaching from another coach in that round.
When Contra Coaches register for a round, they are asked
to submit their preferences for the kind of coach they’d like
to be matched with. This helps their coordinator to make a good match.
Contra Coaches can also view the online profiles of other coaches in
a particular round and submit requests for any coaches who they feel
they might have a good fit with.
When a round is due to start, an email is sent to each
participant to notify them who their coach and client are. They get
in contact with each other, schedule their first sessions and then begin
coaching. As they go along, Contra Coaches record their progress in
the online system. This allows the Contra Coaching Coordinator to monitor
the progress of all rounds and ensure that everyone is giving and receiving
the agreed amount of coaching.
When Contra Coaches finish coaching, they give each
other feedback and testimonials via the online system and usually walk
away with all the usual outcomes of coaching, as well as new skills
in their coaching toolkit and two more close friends or colleagues in
their coaching network!
