How Contra Mentoring works...
Contra Coaches buy a Coaching
Coin or accrue a free coin and this gives them entry to what we
call a mentoring “round”.
Each mentoring round is made up of three hours of giving
and receiving mentoring. By giving mentoring to one coach in what we
call the mentoring “pool”, coaches are entitled to receive
the same amount of mentoring from another coach in the pool.
There is one mentor pool and one mentoree pool. When
coaches register for a mentoring round their profile is listed in both
pools. They are then able to invite coaches to be their mentors or mentorees
using the online system. If the coaches accept the invitations, they
are automatically matched together in a mentoring relationship to complete
their three hours of mentoring.
Coaches’ profiles remain in the mentor or mentoree
pool until they have begun a mentoring relationship. As they mentor,
coaches record their progress in the online system. This allows the
Contra Coaching Coordinator to monitor the progress of all mentoring
and ensure that everyone is giving and receiving the agreed amount of
mentoring.
When Contra Coaches finish mentoring, they give each
other feedback and testimonials via the online system and usually walk
away with honed coaching skills, a deeper understanding of the coaching
process and a bigger coaching toolkit.
